Design And Technology Week 2010

21st – 28th July 2010 is Design & Technology week. Here at Tideway we are celebrating Design & Technology week with a number of events including a D&T/Art exhibition. Have read through the page below to see what is going on over the D&T week.

Design & Technology and Art invite you to view work from students in years 7 - 11. Come to see a wide range of creative products and art work, including GCSE coursework and there will also be activities taking place for you to get involved with!

These are clubs that will run on Monday 21st June 2010 after school

Students will learn how to turn rubbish into useful and attractive products. A range of designing and making activities are on offer, and they will be able to see that recycling and reusing can indeed be fun and creative.

Such products as children’s mobiles, storage containers and 3D decorative shapes can all be made from old milk or drinks bottles.

Come and make some rubbish products as part of D&T Week 2010 with Mr Bentley!

Students will learn how to use a variety of metal working techniques to create their own unique piece of jewellery, such as necklaces, rings, bracelets etc.

Come and design some funky, cool and creative jewellery with Miss Cooper

Students will learn how to programme the new LEGO MINDSTORM robots. There will also be a LEGO toughness competition to see who can make the strongest LEGO model.

Or you can just come along and be creative build what you like with Mr Ferdowsian.
