The Tideway Code

The Tideway Code

All members of this school community, both adults and young people, will:

Be fully committed to our learning and teachingTreat everyone with consideration and courtesyShow respect for ourselves, for others and for our environmentTake a pride in our schoolTry our best at all times in everything we doBe honest, open and fair in dealing with one another

Our aim is to ensure that positive relationships between members of the school community are based on mutual respect.

We emphasise rewarding good behaviour and recognising both the achievement and effort of students.

Every student has the right to learn and every teacher has the right to teach.

It is never acceptable when a student’s behaviour is such that it disrupts the learning of others.

There is a rewards system based on merits and certificates. Every year in November we have an Awards Evening in which we recognise individual progress and achievements. Local businesses, organisations and individuals sponsor all the Awards.
