School Uniform
Outcome of the Tideway School Uniform Consultation
Thank you to all parents who responded to either or both elements of the consultation. Your views were very significant in the outcome.
By a large majority the responses favoured the option which keeps much of the uniform the same as now. As of the start of term 6 therefore the uniform code will be;
For all year groups
Tideway polo shirt
Tideway v-neck navy blue jumper
Black trousers or skirt (plain)
Black shoes (plain)
Only stud earrings and no facial or body piercings, in the interest of pupils’ safety.
Plain black shoes are the required footwear. I accept that the dividing line between shoes and trainers is blurred. Footwear must be plain black with no other coloured stripes or markings and dark soled.
Pupils who are not in uniform may be sent home to change or be required to wear uniform supplied to them on a loan basis.
I would strongly suggest any replacements of items worn to school from now reflect this code.
I hope that this simplifies the uniform and we are able to concentrate our efforts on ensuring pupils success which is our primary aim.
I trust that, having had the opportunity to share your views, you will support the school in enforcing the uniform code.
